Contests promote creativity, artistry, and imagination among LiveWire's members. The incentive to participate in contests is the possibility of winning reward points and recognition. It is our goal to invite everyone to participate and to share with the community their photography, web design, painting, drawing, writing, poetry, or whatever the contest asks of them.

The contest is to capture some sort of humanity. Obviously this means it would be best if some physical human element is in the photo. If you don't have part of a human in there, you should probably explain a bit as to what you were going for. I don't care what emotion you're trying to show, as long as you get one. Albeit, I don't want to see 500 pictures of smiling faces. That's not what I'm looking for. Image by by Lucas Vieira Moreira, Flickr.com Read the contest topic to learn how to enter.

That's right! Viral video time. The goal here is simple. Make a video, post it on YouTube. The video with the most hits, WINS! Of course, there are rules. 1. Your video must have your user name somewhere in there. Either spoken by you, or held up on a paper etc. 2. The video must be your own. You cannot copy a video that is already up and post it. There will be a team to lookout for that. 3. If the video triggers the adult filter thing on YouTube, it will be disqualified. Aside from that, have fun! You have until December 1st. Draw a caricature of a member on LiveWire. It can be anybody at all. Go to somebody's IB, ASK FOR THEIR PERMISSION TO USE THEIR PHOTO, and from it draw a caricature sketch of how they look in that particular picture. Then, post the picture and the caricature in the contest topic. The idea is to say what we've always wanted to say about our fellow LW members--how somebody might have a large nose, or how their eyes might be bulging, or even personality-wise, whether somebody is charismatic or annoying--in a friendly environment where such jokes are taken lightly. Submissions containing high levels of rudeness to personal issues posted on the forums will be removed. Please exhibit good judgement. Read the contest topic to learn how to enter.

Your entry must fit somewhere within the "horror" genre. Weird fiction, Gothic novels, movie scripts, ghost stories, or even true experiences are all acceptable as long as they're scary. Scariness: The story has to be scary. If it is not scary, it will probably not win. The only exception might be a very well-done parody. Writing: Poorly-written stories will also probably not win. Be as creative as you want (meaning that a lot of the "grammar" you learned in school can safely be violated without making the writing crappy), but if your grammar is ambiguous, annoying, or otherwise indicative of laziness or lack of proofreading, this will be obvious to me. In particular, if you do anything really weird with your writing style, I will expect it to contribute to the story in some way. Length: Not very important, at all. That said, a degree of development is required to make a story that is actually good. A twenty-page story could easily lose to a five-sentence story, but if you can make a good story that's more than two pages, this is probably preferable. Read the contest topic to learn how to enter.
